We have been ask to communicate the following to our residents:
Road users and pedestrians will start to see temporary traffic lights in and around Charndon in light of road closures / road works. There will also be lights in place to allow pedestrians to cross junctions safely whilst traffic diversions are in place and the roads have increased traffic.
As a result, the traffic light sequences are going to be slower than normal. It may appear that the lights are not working, but motorists are asked to allow more time for lights to go through their full sequence.
If a motorist goes through a red light, it sets an alert and all of the lights freeze and have to be reset, which causes more chaos than we already have (as well as traffic offences)
